Green Sundays
Arcola Green Sundays areĀ free bi-monthly events that provide an informal and friendly meeting place forĀ people to explore environmental issues through film, music, theatre, poetry and discussion – a chance to celebrate, question and propose different ways of viewing the world and exploring new visions of the future. Join us at our next Green Sunday to relax, learn something new, eat sustainable food, meet interesting people and enjoy live music and films.
Coming up:
August 1st: Ocean Health & Water Resources – to be held in the new Dalston Eastern Curve Garden. You’re welcome to drop-in anytime. It’s just opposite the new Dalston Junction Station on Dalston Lane, by the peace mural (just east of Ashwin Street).

1pm-4pm - activities and games for children from age 3 upwards & adults, all free:
- “What can you find in a whales stomach” an interactive story/drawing activity.
- 3 short films on a loop, including “The story of a bottle of water” animation.
- Storytelling
- Guessing game – how many litres of water go into making a pair of jeans? Prepare to be surprised..
2:30 – 4pm Rainwater harvesting workshop, meet at 2:30 to go to the new FarmShop for the workshop.
5:30 – 7pm UK Premier of award-winning documentary A Sea Change (85mins). Imagine a world with no fish…
The day is a great opportunity for parents to have a relaxing sit down, and learn something new, in this lovely outdoor space, whilst their little ones are kept entertained! Come along.
October 10th: “Practical Action – DIY for Energy Saving” We’ve timed this Green Sunday to coincide with the worldwide day of climate action organised by 350.org in collaboration with organisations across the globe, including the magnificent campaign 10:10 . Come along and learn how to save energy and money!
