Hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles offer zero emission transport. They have much greater range than battery vehicles so can fit into normal operations without disruption. Hydrogen powered zero emission busses, commercial vehicles and passenger cars are on the road now. We expect new vehicles to enter the market in the next couple of years.
Arcola Energy is at the forefront of development and deployment of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) in the UK and beyond. We are leading the introduction of FCEV’s into UK fleets, focusing on commercial vehicles initially with the Kangoo ZE H2. We are partners with a leading bus manufacturer in the development of zero emission buses. We are developing our own full drivetrain platform – tank to transmission – for commercial vehicles.
Arcola has leading capability in modelling of hybrid powertrains in real world applications - an essential foundation for powertrain design. Our powertrain modelling allows partners and customers to define and interrogate fuel cell and battery sizing, heat recovery and power management strategies. We have collaborated with partners, including world-leading academics, to ensure our powertrain model is representative, verified and optimised.
Arcola Energy, automotive clean tech firm AVID Technology and global power management company Eaton announce plans to jointly participate in a UK government-sponsored program to develop battery and hydrogen fuel cell powertrains for zero emission commercial vehicles.
Vivarail, designers and manufacturers of the Class 230 trains, and hydrogen fuel cell specialists Arcola Energy have announced a long-term collaboration.
Arcola Energy, a leading UK clean-tech business working in hydrogen and fuel cell technology, has secured 15,000 sqft newly-built premises for expansion in to the Liverpool City Region borough of Knowsley.
The Liverpool City Region is set to be the first place in the North of England to trial hydrogen buses following a successful £6.4million bid to the government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles.
Low cost hydrogen refuelling for small-scale vehicle deployments or trials
Arcola Energy is the UK representative for Symbio FCell, providing sales, deployment and technical support as part of our hydrogen and fuel cell vehicle services.
In zero emission cars, buses, vans and even trains or UAVs, fuel cells complement other technologies such as batteries to increase range and improve performance and lifetime.
Arcola Energy supplies and integrates complete hybrid power trains for buses, enabling new zero emission public transport.
